For the full crop of 40 you'll need to turn to W*128 but we'll be expanding on our top 20 highlights from each of the ten territories, rolling them out over the next few weeks right here.

FAB 40: BRAZIL

Despite our penchant for super-slick design, we’re all for a little artistic imperfection from time to time, and Sao Paulo based designer Rodrigo Almeida has this month provided the perfect antidote with his unhinged aesthetic edge.

From paper chairs and melted plastic tables at this years Maison et Objet, to his Brazilian inspired, spindle-legged sequin tables from 2008 – to Almeida, the world is his workshop. Inspired by the cultural smorgasbord that is Sao Paulo, Almeida employs found objects and craft-based conventions to produce gloriously imperfect objects - from shelves made out of backpacks to chairs held together with belts and even an armchair made out of a high-visibility jacket, this is scavenger-craft at its best.
